En kongr þackadi honum vel ok feck hann j hendr Malkins. hann geck til kongs ok þackadi honum vel tok sidan suerdin ok feck honum for heim efter þat. Enn kongr feck Difu fehirdi sinom at vardueita. Sidan let hann blass j ludra sina ok for huerr heim til sins landz. En KarlaMagnus for heim til Eiss.
A.41.Ðegar Karlamagnus kongr kom heim | þa kalladi hann til sin Namlun ok bad hann fęra ser suerd þa/ er Malakins af Jvin feck honum. Sidan dro hann suerdin or slidrum ok leit a ok synduz god. Efter þat geck hann til stalhaugs fyrer hǫll sinni ok hio einv sverdino j handar breitt ok vard j litid skard. "Menn veit" seger kongr "þetta er gott suerd ok skal þetta Kurt heita." Siþan hio hann j audro handar breitt eda meira. ok kaaladi þat Almaciam ok kvat þat gott at hǫggua heidna menn med. hann hio þ ino .iij. ok hraut af meir en halfs fotar mannz ok męlti "Þetta suerd skal heita Dyrumdali." ok hafdi þat med ser þui at þar var honum mikil elska aa.
